Modernizations made to the power units of Complexul Energetic Oltenia lead to the increasing of energy efficiency, respectively to the decreasing of specific consumption and consequently to the decreasing of CO2 emissions (from 1.05 t CO2/MWh to 0.910 t CO2/MWh).
The use in the combustion process of the biomass resulted from the 10 hectares of miscanthus plantation will reduce the CO2 emissions, as well as it will generate revenues through the green certificates.
